SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance is tucked away into the tree lined hillside of Kapuzinerberg Salzburg. SEAD is a ten minute walk away from the center of beautiful Salzburg. You will have access to both a small city environment as well as scenic woodlands and nearby lakes. SEAD will be your home away from home during your intensive workshop weeks. Every day you will have a delicious home cooked vegetarian meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner and have an opportunity to sleep over in the school. 

RICARDO AMBRÓZIO (BRA) lived in Rio de Janeiro, and had his first contact with rhythm and movement was at the age of 6. Once Ricardo immersed himself deeper and deeper in dance, he and attended the Faculdade Angel Vianna for two years. At the age of twenty he left Brazil to go to Lisbon, Portugal, to attend the Escola Superior de Dançe and work with some companies (Companhia de Dança de Almada, Company Istável).  At this time he also started to develop his own work as choreographer and teacher by blending all the influences that he had experienced in dance with a lot of energy and momentum. After a creation with Helder Seabra in Company Istável (Porto, Portugal), he worked with Bruno Caverna, Gerard Mostard (Amsterdam) and then Chris de Feyter, Cie. Willi Dorner and Ultima Vez  (Brussels). While working with the Belgian company Ultima Vez, Ricardo Ambrozio has started to gather his own cultural projects (choreography, video, text and photo) under one name, one roof, one mark: Untamed. In August 2014 he left Ultima Vez in order to invest all his time and energy in his own creations and collaborations. He is currently dancing in the new creation of Helder Seabra / Helka When the birds fly low, the wind will blow and finalizing the second creation of Untamed Productions Homo Urbanus. / untamed-productions.com

JUDITH SÁNCHEZ RUÍZ (CUB/GER) is a director, choreographer, improviser and teacher from Cuba, living in Berlin. She began her early dance studies at the National Schools of Art in Cuba. In 2010 she established the JSR Company in New York City, focussing on multidisciplinary and site-specific performances. Sánchez created works for different companies and dance institutions, and taught workshops and master classes throughout the world. One of the main characteristics of her work lays on improvisation as a possibility to produce something new at any given moment in the development of structure and inside a complex choreography. She was a former member of Sasha Waltz & Guests, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Mal Pelo Company and DanzAbierta Company, and was working with DD Dorvillier, David Zambrano, Deborah Hay and Edivaldo Ernesto, with who she is collaborating since 2012. / judithsanchezruiz.com

EDIVALDO ERNESTO (MOZ/GER) as an improvisation expert, teacher and choreographer, bon in in Maputo (Mozambique), and based in Berlin since 2007. He begins to dance with Mozambican traditional dance, before he starts with contemporary dance. He attended several workshops with Boyzie Cekwana and Desire Davids, David Zambrano and Mat Voorter, and won a DanceWEB Scholarship at ImPulsTanz Festival in 2005. For 11 years Edivaldo Ernesto has worked with David Zambrano, touring across the world to perform and teach as Zambrano’s assistant, e.g. at P.A.R.T.S. in 2008.  He was a former member of Sasha Waltz & Guests, and since 2012 also developed various collaborative projects with Judith Sánchez Ruíz of spontaneous improvisation performances. In 2012 he collaborated with Radialsystem and the German pianist Hauschka in an improvised music and dance project, touring Europe. He is regularly teaching at SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance.
