In 1991 Susan Quinn founded SQDC as a place where her passion to create choreography could meet her desire to offer artists opportunities to perform.
Initially her artistic preferences were influenced by the years she spent as a dancer in the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, but as time passed, her work became driven by human interaction and physicality.
Today her choreography examines questions about how we relate to others as well as to ourselves, our interior and exterior worlds. On stage her pieces are characterized by clarity, exploration and creativity. Their defining elements are a strong awareness of the body and its power to communicate through movement.
