“... I once was a ram and a clam little goat. Today I am a tiger and a devouring wolf

I already was a pigeon, and I was a fawn. Today I do not know how I am...” - Chava Alberstein

Performance Xchange format at SEAD showcases different approaches to contemporary dance and invites artists from all over the world to share their artistic voice with the Salzburg audience. The upcoming performance in April focuses on collaboration with Susan Dellal Centre, Tel Aviv – Israel. Susan Quinn, the artistic director of SEAD was invited by Naomi Perlov, the artistic director of Suzanne Dellal Center to be a member of a jury for their newest project 1|2|3 where young choreographers get an opportunity to create and perform. Talented maker Naya Binghi was awarded a scholarship to train at SEAD and share her creative practice.

Naya Binghi combines flamenco and contemporary dance as an expression of struggle. Naya is the founder, choreographer, and dancer of the group Asfour - Tablao Flamenco Arabe. She was selected as the best flamenco dancer in Israel in 2021 by the ADI Foundation. Her work En la Sala de Espera won the 2020 first prize for best creation from the Beer Sheva Fringe Theatre. She is a graduate of the Ironi Alef High School of the Arts in Tel Aviv. She has danced with KCDC 2, the second company of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and the flamenco company Remangar. Naya Binghi  was named "Outstanding Performer" of the duet phase of the 1|2|3 Program of Suzanne Dellal Centre and was invited to SEAD to participate in Movementors. She was also chosen as the "Outstanding Choreographer" of the trio phase and was invited for a week-long residency in Rome at Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo.

1|2|3 is Suzanne Dellal Centre's annual choreographic development program for emerging Israeli choreographers that supports the creation of a new work. The program takes place in three phases - solo, duet, trio. Each phase ends with a performance and the offering of professional opportunities for outstanding artists, selected by an artistic panel. Ten artists will be selected to begin the program. After each phase, the choreographers will be narrowed down until only three choreographers remain. 1|2|3 serves as an incubator for the next generation of local creators, supporting the participants in identifying and defining their artistic voice, and developing compositional tools and artistic language. The program also opens and strengthens relationships between artists from different disciplines and is a springboard for international relationships. The Centre provides practical, educational, and professional resources while guiding selected artists through their artistic process. Artists will participate in master classes and mentoring sessions with international and local artists and arts professionals from various disciplines.
