I.C.E. (International Choreographic Exchange) is a one-year postgraduate program that offers emerging choreographers the opportunity to work independently within a supportive artistic environment and develop their own choreographic works. At SEAD, I.C.E. students benefit from access to dancers, rehearsal spaces, performance opportunities, and feedback from an international faculty of dance professionals.

I.C.E. students have the opportunity to develop an individualized curriculum together with their I.C.E. mentors, tailored to their specific needs and artistic goals. Throughout the year, they create new choreographic works, engage in studio research periods, write a written thesis, support guest choreographers, and have the opportunity to continue their dance training through regular classes. If students wish to combine their postgraduate studies with an external project that is recognized as equivalent to the program requirements, attendance exemptions may be granted by the faculty.

During the program, I.C.E. students undertake a studio research phase with continuous feedback and support from SEAD, and present both a stage work and a site-specific choreography during their residency year. In addition to movement workshops, the program includes a series of theoretical classes on dance and performance, while also offering opportunities to gain practical production experience in areas such as lighting and sound design.
