Summer Dance Camp
The SEAD Summer Dance Camp will take place from August 17 to 29, 2026.
Designed for dedicated dancers aged 15 to 18, this two-week intensive offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with dance in a focused and inspiring environment. The program culminates in a public performance, where participants will present the work developed throughout the residency.
Led by an international faculty of distinguished artists and educators, the program brings together contemporary dance, classical ballet, somatic practices, and creative research. It is conceived as both a rigorous training experience and an invitation to explore individual artistic voice within a collaborative setting.
The weekly structure (Monday to Friday) reflects elements of SEAD’s professional training framework.
Over the course of two weeks, participants are invited into a concentrated artistic environment that fosters discipline, curiosity, and collaboration. An experience defined by shared commitment, creative rigor, and the development of an authentic artistic presence.
Curriculum:
Enter an intensive two-week artistic laboratory designed for young dancers ready to deepen their practice and expand their creative identity.
The first week is dedicated to exploration and refinement. Participants engage with diverse movement languages shaped by the faculty’s distinct artistic backgrounds, moving between ballet, contemporary dance, breaking, and somatic practices. This phase encourages technical precision, physical awareness, and a willingness to challenge established patterns, fostering both versatility and depth.
In the second week, the focus shifts toward creation and collaboration. Building on the material developed, participants enter a guided creative process, working closely with the faculty to shape a collective work. Emphasis is placed on artistic clarity, compositional awareness, and the ability to contribute within a professional and collaborative environment. This process culminates in a public performance on the final day.
The first Saturday offers a reflective pause within the intensity of the program, with attention to somatic awareness, constructive feedback, and sustainable dance practices. The day concludes with a curated dance film evening, opening space for shared viewing, critical reflection, and dialogue.
The final Saturday is dedicated entirely to performance. Participants are guided through the full arc of preparation. From mental focus and physical readiness to technical rehearsals! Leading into the final presentation, where the creative process is brought to the stage.
Complementing the core program, selected evening improvisation sessions provide space for experimentation, exchange, and informal artistic encounters.
